When touch is not common practice: The haptonomic approach and therapy for higher-functioning children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

Within regular healthcare and counselling of high-functioning children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the approach most commonly taken assumes structure and predictability are key concepts in the treatment. This article raises the possibility of a haptonomic approach with this target group.
